I was told the other day by a kind of. not reliable source that Hoag Hospital will pay off your medical school debt.
I'm having a hard time believing this haha.

Some hospitals will offer incentives to newly trained doctors, especially those that have trouble recruiting doctors otherwise or are in desperate need of a specific type. I don’t know where hoag is, but it isn’t impossible that they might have some kind of payback program in exchange for a contract of a certain number of years.

It is not at all unusual for hospitals to assist in loan repayments as part of recruiting package. Typically, only hospitals in shortage areas or who need a particular hard to recruit specialty do this. The arrangement is usually coupled with an agreement to stay and practice in the service area for a defined period of time (for example, 3 years) with payment (or loan forgiveness) made pro rata with how long you actually stay. I have no idea where Hoag Hospital is, but it might be worth a call to their Medical Staff Development Office.

Hoag is in CA, alright didn’t know that!

Thank to guys!
