Silvka, If I graduated from Pace or Hofstra top of my class I COULD still accomplish more than the guy who went to Harvard and didn’t do anything with his opportunities. But there is a problem with that - I will never graduate top of my class from any school I go to. I am not that naturally smart and I will admit it.

Secondly, I don’t think you’re seeing the point I’m trying to make about “elitist”. I really don’t care about the rankings. Honestly, UVA is ranked worse then U of M in some rankings and I honestly do not care one bit. After college, I want to work in business in NYC. I’ve interned in the city, know numerous people who work at big banks in the city, and am a recent on wallstreetoasis.com. I do not know if you’re familiar with the job named “investment banker”, but this is what I want to do after college. It is SUBSTANIALLY harder to break into the field by not attending a “target”.

It actually is really shocking to me how easily some members on these boards throw around terms. I just don’t see, after 5, 10, 10,000 posts; you have enough information about me to call me an “elitist”. I don’t care about the ranking of the school. But I do care about my future after the school. I know what I want to do and I know that to break into the field, it is much easier from a “target”. Before you start throwing out claims that I’m an “elitist”, do some research. I feel like some people on this site are out to chastise others for being driven. I know what I want to do after college, and have my goals line up of how I’m going to get there. Is there really an issue with that? To make claims that I’m an “elitist” because I’m disappointed and am working to achieve a goal is blatantly immature.
