oooh dear...here we go again. this is why i started the "reflections" thread. none of you, thankfully know exactly what went on in this forum last year. it occurs to me maybe THAT'S why AU kids stay away. all i can say is re-read the reflections thread. besides, if CC is a student's sole source of college input, that's a problem.
yeah, it gets old being bashed for liking a school. strangely defensive. but for the sake of the kids i talk to ( and they say help) i'll stay around. and BECAUSE of you who don't know about last year, and i will do nothing to violate CC rules/confidentiality, suffice to say the "articulate" poster was indeed a very disturbed young man, whose real identity had already come to the attention of the AU officials. he near single-handedly destroyed the AU threads, as well as attempted same on other schools forums.
his posts were mean and his PMs cruel. it would appear this poster was permanently banned from CC, though some of us believe he tried to come on with "new" names. if you have so little to do, to review the posts of 1-2 years ago, be advised that the vigilant CC moderators cleaned up his trash, so NO, you won't find this material anymore. same clean-up occured to the NEXT poor kid, named marchingbandalto, whose post remains at the top of this forum. this GOOD kid was also chased off. so...this has maybe more than a little to do with the lack of AU kids' involvement, and i can't blame them. but it's also clear from the wonderful conversations i have on here with kids, that they're smart enough to see through the junk. best to you new guys!

So between posts #36 and #41 I haven't learned a thing. :rolleyes" All right, I'll stop and look elsewhere.

jkazoo,

I guess you too worship the devil and eat babies like I always do. :)
Maybe we should keep our screwed up moral values and always offensive, highly erroneous comments to ourselves, haha.

mini,

If you have any specific questions in mind, let me know. I will answer them to the best of my knowledge.
If anybody else wants to hear my incredibly biased and unethical observations about AU, don't hesitate to PM me.

swmass - we are finally in agreement!

as i've said before, there are plenty of good student-based resources out there. go to any Borders or Barnes and Noble. there are at least 3 of these, but the only name i can remember now is(CC won't let this print) is Coll--- Pr-w---. FOR THE HIGH SCHOOLERS,and PARENTS OF HIGH SCHOOLERS note on CC's alphabetical list of colleges that most/many have little activity. i don't know the history of CC, but suspect it was california based at first. the UC school system is the most active, with the usual HPY stuff going on. it is very obvious the majority of happy AU kids are not here.

i forgot another thought....why aren't kids/parents reading and/or responding to "pswillia"'s thread, "Experienced AU Grad Answers Questions" ? there are only 5 responses and not too many visits. he's a successful alum and gives wonderful, STUDENT-BASED advice.

Just to interject, I am a freshman at AU who has had a very mixed experience, and would love to share with any incoming students who are interested. There are definitely a lot of little things that I would have done differently if I had the opportunity.

college *******

yes, horsegirl...i tried to spell :) it out yesterday! an excellent resource. are you an equestrian?
