AAMC's when to take MCAT

As I was reading through the MCAT registration info AAMC has ("the Essentials"), it says that "When Should You Take the Exam?
You will want to take the exam the year in which you will apply for
medical school, so that, for example, if you are applying in 2009 for entrance to
medical school in 2010, you should take the exam in 2009."

However, my plan was to take it this september, apply next june (2010), for entrance to medical school in 2011.

Would that be okay?

Thanks! :)

That would be fine - the concern is that schools generally only accept MCAT scores that are less than either 2 or 3 years old (depending on the school), but obviously you would be well within that margin.

thank you!
