Aargh.

Well, can't roll my tongue, don't like rolling my eyes :-), and can't wriggle my ears. I'm seeing a pattern here! And mootmom, turning the tongue upside down? I have never even heard/thought of this!

Mootmom, I can do these things, too! We should go join the circus!

Well, according to a History list I'm on, y'all are amateurs:

Some of you all really need to find something stimulating to do once in awhile to take your mind off of your children. Ladies and Gentlemen I hate to break it to you but your child's life is not YOUR life. She is almost in college, its time to let go and allow her to actually have a life of her own. If she screws up on one SAT II, who really cares, its just a test and im sure getting into Pomona is will be just as good as getting into Harvard.

Umm - having a lively discussion about eye-rolling, tongue-rolling, ear-wiggling and farting does take our minds off our kids.

Ryan - this was a "venting" thread. I write things here I would never say to my daughter, just as many students write things on these boards they would never say to their parents. In my case, my daughter made her point, I accepted it, then came here to get some sympathy from the many other parents who are in the same situation (misery loves company, etc.). By the way, my daughter does not intend (and never has intended) to apply to an Ivy, and Pomona can be almost as hard to get into as Harvard.

Firefly, it was obvious to me that Ryan's post was just a case of
cyber-eye-rolling. Respond accordingly. ;)

I can turn my tongue upside down, wiggle my ears, and move my scalp enough to make my hairline shift by more than an inch.

Me too. But I have yet to find anyone who will pay me for it.
