hey guys right now I'm in a little bit of panic and would like some advices

I do want to grad school but I don't think it really has anything to do with my major.

Right now I'm going to a mediocre college called NJIT (Due to financial reasons)

and have a gpa of around 3.2 (mechanical engineering major)

I still have around 2 years left and I'm sure I can definitely bring up the gpa.

The thing is I just want to go to top grad school and get a master's degree for better job prospects (I know that when one wants to go to grad school, one should have a specific interest of area)

All I'm thinking is that I just want to get a decent job (I'm not really sure what I want to do)

has anyone ever been in this situation?

Most people are in that situation. You still have 2 years left and basically all your core classes to help you decide.

the thing is my parents are pressuring me alot

I told them that I’m not really sure why i want to go to grad school but for now

I would like get some research by working under professors this summer to get some

experience and see what I am interested in…

Is it too late to look for research? spring semester starts in around a week so I’m planning to see my advisor for some advices

It is not too late and, in fact, it is not too late to apply for REU programs all over the country. Usually those applications deadlines start in February. if you are eager to try research, go talk to your professors and any undergraduate research office your university might have.

Good Luck!
