about my school

two questions:

1) do colleges look at where other seniors from my hs matriculate? nobody except one (and that one was quite a while ago) has gone to an ivy league school. everybody ends up either at u of m or yeshiva university or wayne. u of m is nothing to sneeaze at, but I want to break this friggin cycle! so will this count against me?

2) also, if my school doesn't rank and colleges ask me to estimate my rank anyways, will it really matter if it is out of a class of 11?

thanks to all who respond.

1) If anything, you wanting to break the cycle will help you. It will show that you stand out from your peers.

2) I don't know why the size of the class would matter. Unless it takes away from the value of the change in cycle in question 1.

a class of 11, wow...

I think when they look that you have 11 students, they won't really care

citygirlsmom: yes, I know. the program I am on currently at the art institute of chicago is so enlightening for me because i have never had a public school-type experience. it is truly wonderful and anybody else on this board who goes to a school with absolutely no art program (sobs) should send their kid to this thing. I came here with absolutely no knowledge of photography and will leave with the skills to pursue it on my own (no teacher needed to tell me how to shade or capture the tone of the flower petal).

in the other school district there is an artsy magnet school!

I would've joined, but I'm not gifted in those areas :-</p>
