I wrote on my commonapp that I’m planning to major in International Relations, but I’m still torn between that and PPE major modeled after Oxford’s. How is PPE program like and how rigorous is it?
The PPE program has been recently expanded. It takes in 22 kids a year instead of the past 14. As far as rigor goes — PPE has the image of the “gov honors” major on campus, but I’m not sure if it’s justified. We certainly do read a lot and write a lot.
^ That and they pretty much own the Rose.
@Carotid what does that mean? “own the Rose”?
I’m also interested in PPE as an incoming freshman… is it really competitive to get in? I’m not overly worried but it’d be nice to know I can enter that major and not have to be worried about getting in.
Well the name itself clearly tells us that the course is daum hard, and 22 students in one class? that’s awesome
@Carotid You mean that PPE students tend to be the major Rose scholarship winners in CMC?
Are there any classes that freshman should take that would boost their chances of getting in to the major?
