I didn't want to muddy up that thread with chatter, but I noticed that there are all kinds of good colleges I hear about on here all the time, but no one's kids are going to them. I'm thinking Carleton, Tulane, Pomona. And Penn and no Harvards.

I saw Tulane a lot on the acceptances thread. Any thoughts as to why people are choosing not to go there, or any of these other top colleges?

I will not be posting where my D will be attending as she would be too easy to identify. I think there may be others who are also in the same situation.

There is one school on my D’s final list that posts publicly on their web site all the students (names and hometowns) that are in their new class, so it would be easy to figure her out if she went there…I probably won’t post it either.

There are several posting on the Carleton forum that are going but haven’t posted on the decisions thread. Once they’ve decided, they may just spend their time on the forum of “their” school and not cruise the other forums. Or maybe they’re still out celebrating and enjoying senioritis:)

Maybe it’s a sign that the window sticker prestige insanity is finaling falling out of “style?” Sort of like not walking around New York with Hermes bag?
