About to transfer, don't have calc, panicking

Hi all,

I’m finishing up my AS in natural sciences at an East Coast community college and trying to decide upon which 4 year schools to apply to. My GPA is 3.97, EC include honors program, phi theta kappa, capstone, SOARS program, independant research, treasurer of bio club, internship at NIH which will result in publication, and some more.

My transcript is very strong, but I have not taken calc!! My college’s AS degree doesn’t require it, but now that I am looking at schools, including some top schools like Cornell and upenn, I see that the enter their biology program does!

Am I screwed? or can I simply take it over the summer to meet the req?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do or if this is actually a big problem for me?

I would really, really, appreciate assistance.

I think your best bet would be to get in touch with admissions at the schools to which you are applying and ask them these questions. When one is transferring, they’re often allowed to complete requirements over the summer prior to transferring. If accepted, your acceptance would be pending the completion of the course.
