Academic Advising Sessions for new freshman

Is anyone who doesn't live in So. Cal. planning to go there for the required academic advising session? We're a good 9-hour drive away, but my son is thinking maybe he should go to one of the in-person sessions rather than opting for the online alternative. Looking at the email we received, I see it's a four-hour presentation. Does anyone know exactly what goes on in these sessions?

I wish we could go. We live too far away. S took the online advising session yesterday and found it to be quite informative, although he does have several questions, which I suppose can be answered by email.

I know this doesn’t answer your question, though.

Hi SJR, Sorry for being out for so long. To give you an idea of what to expect. There’s a You Tube version of the Academic Advising. Hope this helps.
There’s also a link that has the academic advising information with sessions and dates for anyone who wants to know.

we live in SoCal, my son went but did not think it was worth the time. If you were to ask him he would say to do the online version.

Thank you very much OCELITE for letting us know about and providing the link to this session by Chapman University’s Director of Academic Advising, Carol May. Her talk is very valuable & informative, discussing possible pitfalls & great possibilities along the way to completing a successful four years at Chapman University.

Ocelite, very helpful, and valetta, your S’s opinion helps, too.

You’re so welcome! :)
