Academic Decathlon

what have yall been doing so far?

So far, we've been completing introductory powerpoint presentations of the topics and now we are starting to study our packets. Starting this week, we'll begin after school practices.

Does anyone here know if knowing all the stuff from the economics section is enough to pass one of the AP Econ tests? As long as I'm studying this much I may as well try to get credit for it...

Acadec at my school is very laid back...we don't have a class and thus we aren't as prepared as schools like Acton-Boxboro (who win every year in MA!!!!). To prepare, some of us make outlines of the packets (not everyone reads them lol) and we have an all day study session before the competition.

Chriss88, some past AcDecers told me they were able to take the AP Macroecon exam. I don't know about micro.

How do you guys study for the math section? I mean they have calculus in it and this year I'm only in precalc...and there's a ton of people in my class who are only in geometry or algebra.

Do you guys have team members (who are really good at math) teach everyone else?

For each section, our school has a certain teacher teach that section on a certain day of the week before/after school. We get the AP Calc teacher to teach us the math section, the Economics teacher to teach us the econ section, the Music Theory teacher to teach us music, and so on...

Right now we are learning all the forumlae.

yes team members teach everyone else.
