Academic distinctions or honors?

<p>I'm not too sure what "academic distinctions or honors" are right now.
I know National Merit counts, but does belonging to National Honors Society count also? What about awards in science competition like Siemens? </p>

<p>Can you give me some examples of what are "academic distinctions or honors"? </p>

<p>well my junior year i was awarded the AP English Language Award for consistent improvement thorugh the course year and i feel that is an academic award i have that as one.</p>
