Academic Orienteering

Has anyone been able to do the academic orienteering? It was supposed to be up by today and it's driving me crazy.

I've already done the New Student Orientation that L&S Advising provides.

Aggghhhh... yes... when is this going to start? (It's like they've got a carrot in front of me that I can never eat... grrrrr... May 9th... May 12th... April whatever if was back then...)

BackToReality

Yeah, it went from April, to May 9th, to May 12th...and today is May 12th. Maybe if I wasn't so excited about going to Berkeley I wouldn't mind...but dang...I want to start now!!! Hahahaha.

Bahhh... they liiiieeeeedddd to ussss... no Academic Orienteering up yet, and it will be May 13 in 3 hours...

BackToReality

what does that mean?

OK, does anybody know what's going on? "A New Site will be available May 12..." . Still no new site... Any of the current Berkeley students remember this thing and how long it really took them to get it up?

BackToReality

There is a New Student Orientation which I've already completed; I wonder if it is the same as the Academic Orienteering. It prepared us for CalSO.

Are you L&S or CoE? Academic Orienteering seems to apply only to L&S.

BackToReality

nothing on the site. dumdumdeedum..and we wait.

I'm L&S...Academic Orienteering applies to me too...I've done New Student Orientation.

what what? whats new student orientation?

I'll provide the link to y'all:

http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/orientation/intro.html

That link provides information for priorities as freshmen, transfers, etc. with worksheets to get you sorted out for what classes.

That's the academic orienteering website, but it's just as good.

thx Eiffelguy! Not sure whether or not that's everything that's in Academic Orienteering, but there has to be some overlap because the stuff here is required for CalSo.

BackToReality

therefore if i am not going for CalSO, i cannot sign up for any of the classes yet? am i understanding correctly?

You cannot sign up for any classes until after all the CalSO events are held; don't worry though, there is always Spring Semester for new classes. Also, intro classes are huge so there should be space left.
