guys do you think the BU 7- year med program is better than the PSU 6/7 med program

BU has a more prestigious undergrad and medical school. But PSU's program is shorter and more affordable.

they're both good programs, factor in environment, cost, distance from family, all those other factors besides the med program offered, that's wat is important..

it's how i chose between penn state's and northwestern's programs

Um just a side question.. Is it true that you need SAT2 Chem for HPME?

yes, carbonfishbone

I want to make a list of all the BA/MD programs there are so when I want to apply, I have some choices. Please list all the programs that you know of. Thanks.

I'm not sure how up to date this list is, but it's a good starting point.
http://services.aamc.org/currdir/section3/degree2.cfm?data=yes&program=bsmd

The site only lists the medical schools.........I was wondering about the undergraduate schools that are affiliated with the medical schools that I should apply to........Anybody else please?

Although it links to the medical school's website, the programs are affiliated with the undergraduate institution within the university (if that wording makes sense...). So Tufts University School of Medicine would be affiliated with Tufts University, Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University would be affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University, etc.

ok...thanks. I checked out the Tufts University School of Medicine website but I couldn't really find information on the program.

You'll have to go to the undergraduate website to get information on admissions into the BS/MD program (it gets a little annoying/tedious after a while though, looking up the medical school, then searching the undergrad admissions...)

this site lists most of the integrated ba/md med programs in the nation. good luck!

this is my ranking for getting into these select ba/md programs in the northeast/mid-atlantic USA (from hardest to easiest to get into)

Brown PLME

several NJ ugrad schools + UMDNJ

BU

GW

Temple

SUNY Stony Brook

Drexel

Union/Siena/RPI + Albany Med College

UConn

*these rankings are based ONLY on the admission aspect and how easy/hard it is to get into these med programs.
*i am aware that there are several other joint ba/md programs, but i have chosen only these since i am considering these and would like to know

actually the jefferson med school program is affiliated with penn state

u should go visit those bro, idk if youd like some of those schools, especially temple, drexel, uconn, and stony brook. Temple and drexel, i couldnt wait to go home...

Brown
GW
BU
Drexel

those are the rankings in order of how hard it is to get into of the med schools out of your list that i'm familiar with. the others i'm not sure of.

A better order would be this:
-Brown PLME
-UMDNJ/BU
-GW
-RPI/AMC
-UConn
-Union/AMC
-SUNY SB
-Siena/AMC
-Drexel
-Temple

It also depends what state you're from and if you want an accelerated track and if you want to take MCATs, etc. Brown is pretty relaxed, but 8 years, and the medical school is just 8-year bs/md students-not much variety. The BU/NJ schools are great, but have a minimum MCAT, which will require a summer of studying. GW is good. RPI/AMC has no MCATs, 7 year track, and also a great reputation like the others. The other ones are on the lower end because they have some tighter requirements, but no great benefits from those requirements.

I was looking through the different threads in this forum. I mostly find threads that talk only about one bs/md program. However, I wanted to know the different schools and their bs/md programs. Can anyone please make a list of these programs? I'm interested in applying, and it would be very helpful. Thanks.

http://services.aamc.org/currdir/section3/degree2.cfm?data=yes&program=bsmd has a list of BS/MD programs; I don't know how complete the list is, or how up-to-date it is though. The links on the website will take you to the medical school website, so you'll have to backtrack a bit and go to the undergraduate website to get information on admissions.

so many ppl ask that question, its mad funny
