So I really want to be a doctor. It's been a dream of mine for a while now, and I'm fixed on getting into an accelerated medical program. I understand that they are extremely competitive and really hard to get into, but I still want to go for them. I have a list, or rather lists :P , of colleges offering the programs. I just wanted to know, could anyone here rate/rank these programs? Maybe by prestige, difficulty, success rates, etc.? I've searched everywhere for this, but found nothing. Thank you in advance!!

If you are determined that this is the best path for yourself, scrape together the money and energy and apply to all of them. If you are admitted to more than one with affordable financial aid, then that will be the time to worry about whether one is “better” than the other.

The super competitive programs include Brown’s PLME program, Northwestern’s and the Rice/Baylor program. I’ve heard good things about the Penn State program too. I think RPI/Alb. Med and Rutgers/Robertwood Johnson would also be good programs. And I’d follow @happymomof1’s advice. Every single one of these programs is competitive, so just apply to as many as you can and see where the dice land. =P

BU has a 7 year program.

Case Western also has a very good program.

The programs are so competitive, one line of thinking is, if you’re enough to get in, you’re good enough to get in the regular way and to an even better program without all the restrictions that the combined/accelerated programs have.

We took a look at a few, but the only one she had a realistic chance at, UMKC (6 year), is definitely a program she had no interest in since it involves such heavy coursework for six years with no breaks.
