Acceptance- Fat or Thin Envelopes?

So, do acceptance letters usually come in fat or thin envelopes?

And, does "decision letters will be issed by Dec. 1st" mean I should check my mailbox obsessively Dec. 1?

Thanks.

My acceptance letters were split 50/50--half thin half fat.

Figures, they have to trick you some way. Anyone else?

My acceptance from UCF, my safety, was very thin, but said "Congratulations!" on the front.

As long as they don't put rejection letters in fat envelopes, that's fine with me.
(Imagine getting a fat envelope from Harvard only to contain their rejection letter and your local community college's brochure. Ouch.)

Acceptances come in all size envelopes. Out of my daughter's 7 acceptances, 3 or 4 came in regular size envelopes.

lol.

i think most acceptance letters say "congratulations" on the front.

U of M was moderately skinny, but came in a 10 by 13 envelope, so it was pretty obvious what it was. They weren't going to spend that money for rejections.

dont u find out acceptances online first anyways...

yeah, but some people like to wait for the mailbox. its more "exciting" to do it the old fashioned way for some people.

Wow, not me. Definitely cannot wait.

i'm waiting for my ed decision to come in the mail :) i don't wanna spoil it.

Mine was a small envelope that felt thick because of several papers inside. I guess they try to get the best of both worlds.

I got a huge package from Columbia when I applied as a junior transfer. My mom was very excited, literally dancing as she handed it to me. It turned out to be a rejection/determination that I was ineligible for admission and...the catalog for their night school.

^Wow, that's harsh.

The one I got from SFSU was thin but very long. I haven't gotten any others yet.

It would be GREAT if everyone could indicate which schools send out acceptances in Fat vs Thin envelopes and create a list/spreadsheet that could be posted on this forum someplace. Who can this suggestion be sent to?

That is a smart suggestion.
