Does anyone know if the likelihood of getting accepted at USC increases if you’re a first generation college student or a minority?
First-generation? Very likely. Minority? Meh. I’m sure USC to a certain extent uses affirmative action, but it doesn’t mean that since you’re a first-generation or URM that you can slack off in your USC application. USC won’t bend over backwards to take in a first gen or URM applicant with objectively bad stats, and that goes for any other school, even if being in one or both of these categories does marginally boost your application in the admissions officers’ eyes.
Thanks for your feeback!
