Acceptance into major-rules and exceptions

@ucbalumnus @eyemgh For AP Calc BC exam, students get a section score for AB an a section score for BC beside the overall score. Perhaps the school means getting 5 in both section scores.

@billcsho, maybe so. That example does though support the point that doing well on the AP isn’t 100% predictive of the ability to be accelerated. Some are and some aren’t. There’s a school of thought that I disagree with that students should repeat to make sure. I a much bigger fan of the @ucbalumnus approach, get the syllabi and tests and find out for yourself.

^ I agree. My D did not check the syllabus or past exam of Calc 3 though as there are plenty of former students from her HS (the top feeding school) at the same college just took Calc 3 directly after BC. I do know one student went to another engineering school that retake Calc 2 since they use a lot o coding in Calc 3 that was taught in Calc 2 too.

If I were in this situation I would at this point get oriented to a different major and/or college.
