Anybody have any guesses/any experience with when decisions will probably arrive in the Baltimore, MD area??? ;)

I heard somewhere that Maryland/Virginia receives theirs at just around the same time that applicants farther away get them. It's odd, because I also assumed that they got them earlier.

Who knows, maybe they purposefully stagger the letters, sending out California and Alaska first, and so on until they get to the Virgnia/Maryland/DC area, haha.

haha i hope they send out California first. i hate waiting and dont want to be one of the last people to find out.

and i heard that international students hear back in email too

I wonder if the decision letter is on recycled paper? Or if it's not, if it is on paper grown sustainably, perhaps with bamboo. I wonder how much bleach is used on the paper. I need to go to a school that respects the environment. Gee, I wonder if the letter will be a perfect square or your typical rectangle. Squares are more friendly, since most stationary is square, and rectangles are more professional. Do I want to go to a friendly school or a stern, professional one? Hmm...this letter means so much./sarcasm

Can someone post his or her old acceptance letter?

no sarcasm :)

Hey guys, here is a copy of the acceptance email sent to my friend's friend, an international student from China. (only int'l students are sent letters through email):

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Committee
on Admissions has voted to accept your application for admission to
Georgetown University. I am happy to offer you a place in the first-year
class for the fall of 2008.

You are to be congratulated on the distinction of being accepted under the Early Action program. This year, the Admissions Committees
considered over 6,000 applications, but limited the number of acceptances to approximately 18% of those who applied to ensure that Regular Decision candidates would have an equal chance of acceptance. Admission was especially competitive as offers were extended only to those candidates whose extraordinary academic and personal accomplishments ensured they would be admitted regardless of the strength of the remaining applicant pool.

Georgetown does not require Early Action candidates to confirm
their enrollment immediately. You must observe the Candidates?Reply
Date of May 1, a common deadline for all applicants, but I do hope that we will hear from you as soon as your decision is certain. When you have
reached your decision, please return the enclosed enrollment agreement
form together with the required nonrefundable deposit to confirm your
place. Please read carefully the enclosed details for more information
regarding your enrollment. I also encourage you to visit the accepted
student website at Georgetown University- Office of Undergraduate Admissions - Accepted Students Website for the
most current updates about campus activities.

I am pleased to speak for the entire Georgetown community in extending
to you this offer of admission. I look forward to welcoming you to
the University as a member of the Class of 2012.

Sincerely,

Charles A. Deacon
Dean of Undergraduate Admissions
