I think I can put that "new student" thing to rest.
I got my acceptance letter today from Stony Brook & my SOLAR thing had that "new student" link there for a few days already now, since I started checking it.

Though the letter was dated "January 30th, 2008" and it's the 26th. It makes me think they just used last year's letter and changed "2007" to "2008"...

Did you apply early action?

kiwikimmi - I applied regular decision. But because I applied EA to Binghamton, I got all my SUNY apps done around the same time, late October/early November. That being said, they had my application about a month before the RD deadline, so I don't know if that plays apart in my rather early acceptance notification...

Congrats, pxc! (And to everyone else who will be receiving letters over the next few days!)

We put January 30 because that was the day we had planned on mailing the packets -- but things moved more quickly than we anticipated, so we started getting them out this week.

Oh thank you Chris. I just came up with my theory that the admissions office was lazy and decided to use last year's letter. Guess not.

Do you know when WISE/Honors College decisions will come out?

They should be out in March.

Chris

I got accepted as well today! post marked 30th.

Chris i have a question, how do i know what my tuition or what ever is? (sorry if its included in the package i havent looked through all of it)

I got innnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!! yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris can you explain to me what the EOP program means? what is the average GPA and SAT?

Chris: I applied regular decision. So when does the regular decision letters come out? Is it after Feb. 15? Does SOLAR tell you first? Does the "new students tab" mean anything?

Soon, yes, no, and yes. :D

Chris

Thanks Chris!

Also I have one more question: I just checked SOLAR and it said that it is currently unavailable. So does it mean that there are some errors in SOLAR? Could a student who is accepted as stated in the status previously be rejected after the system is updated? I'm worried.........
