acceptance rate jumps 3% to 12%

I have inside info. Other Ivy League schools took similar hits. You'll see on Tuesday.

aaahhhh i hope i’m accepted! Sorry, just spent my weekend on cc pretty much soooo nervous.

so did i annasmith. i have a test tomorrow too. i didnt study yet.
my mom wants me to go here. its the closest of the ivies to home.

Wasn’t it 11% according to…

can you please explain what that means?

does that mean that they all went up in acceptance rates?? maybe due to a predicted lower yield?

actually 11.9% haha. And since i’m a nice person, i’ll tell them how you know. The Penn newspaper reported recently in an article they wrote that this year Princeton admitted 11.9% of their applicants. We don’t know if this is true or not but the fact that they changed their article later and that they are a highly-ranked school’s newspaper and aren’t allowed to lie, we’re believing it.

I don’t know, a day later, in another article, princeton said they were still reviewing apps (as in yesterday).

^^ Which is why we can’t completely believe what is written. Still, though, if it turns out not to be true, then people have to ask questions about why Penn’s paper even printed that.

^^AnnaSmith when i read the article i got it as they were still trying to decide if they were sending paper rejections or not. Am i the only one that thought that

note** i breifed the article i didnt throughly read it

Back into double digits? How pedestrian. I think Columbia is ahead of you guys now ;)

^^^^^and brown and dartmouth

Is this true? Is there a link to the article?

I believe it’s true. I originally posted this in the Princeton forum, but my thread got locked.

A link to the original article can be found in the Penn forum

Wait, this is actually incorrect, I’m sorry. I talked to some people who definitely know, as in DP admissions staff, and they said that as of Friday (when the article was written) Penn was still going over students, and that it was HIGHLY unlikely that admissions rates would ever change so drastically.

Well, considering 22,000 applied to Princeton this year, I hope admit rates go up a bit :)

^^well even if the admit rate stayed the same more people would of still been accepted right?

I would say NY Times reliability > UPenn reliability

Just read a post by someone in the Penn forum who emailed the writer to ask about the article. She confirmed the validity.

okay i’m on an emotional roller coaster now, lol.
