Is it likely that an acceptance could be rescinded based off of AP scores? I have not sent AP scores to any college yet (mainly because I do not have the money to send all the scores to all the schools I applied to), so when I decide on the school I will attend, that is when I am planning on sending the scores.
However, one of my scores was a 2. It’s bad, I know. I told my teacher that I wasn’t prepared to take the exam, but she made us all take it anyways (the fee was waived, so I was fine having to take it since it was free). I know the 2 will not look great to any college, but would it be bad enough for a school to rescind my acceptance?
No, they will not rescind your acceptance over a 2. Don’t worry.
No chance.
You are not obligated to send AP scores unless you are planning to try to use them for college credit or to skip pre-req
Do you even have to submit your AP exam scores if you don’t like how they turned out? My S got 100% for his semester grades in AP Computer Science, but scored a 1 on the test and said they never really practiced for it. We decided not to send the scores to any of the colleges where he applied, and we probably will only have him take a few of the AP tests for the classes he’s currently taking, but not all of them.
No there is no need to send AP scores unless you think they will help you in some way.
in that case, @Abwee67, I’d just skip sending the score to the college (unless they give credit for a score of a 2). I figure if my S scores high enough on one of them to earn some credits, we’ll send it along. Otherwise, we’ll skip it.
Nope. Also, I got a 2 on 1 AP exam, still went to my college haha.
@Abwee67 I have gotten two 2’s on AP exams. Didn’t matter in the long run. Don’t worry.
Thanks everyone! Someone told me that when I send scores, I must send all the scores from one year (last year I took 5 tests, all passing except the 2). I didn’t know if that is true or not. I knew I wanted to send 4/5 of the exam scores from last year, but if I had to send all, they’d see my 2 which I was worried about.
I don’t think I’m worried anymore now!
Colleges care about your grades in the AP Classes. The only reason they care about AP Scores is if you want to get credit for college classes. If you don’t get a high score, then you will take the class in college, which is what they expect in the first place. Do not fret.
