The other thread was getting off topic with all the scholarship competition and other stuff so I thought I'd start a thread where we could all post our decision, our scholarships, and a little background of stats.

For me:

ACCEPTED and honors

$8500 scholarship (not through a competition... just came with my acceptance)

28 ACT, 4.4 wgpa, 3.9 uwgpa, female for civil engineering

Also, if you have visited I'd love to hear some impressions. I'm not sure my opinion of UDel yet... I've visited but I'm not sure if I really like it. For the price, it is on my top choices, though.

Congrats to all who got in and my condolences to those who did not.... I'm sure you'll find another great school to go to!

Accepted to honors program - from NY
$7500 scholarship (also not through a competition)
1510 SAT, female, undecided
Going to Decision Days on the 16th

Not sure if I'll go, but it's likely because so far it's the best financially, and not too far. I got into almost all my other schools though, so I'm waiting on their finaid offers...

anovice: my impressions - I've heard lots of good things about UDel and visited lots of times. People in the honors program seem to be happy with it, and everyone I talked to has been very friendly. I like it...only thing I'm not happy about is the strong party/drinking scene there, but I'm hoping I'd be able to find people like me. They also have a really good engineering program there - I know people in engineering who've been successful from UD.

Stark Scholarship (full tuition + whatever)
1540 SAT, 4.0 UW, not sure weighted, female for biology

I liked the school, but I don't know that I'll end up there. I got accepted to all my other schools and Penn State actually offered me an even better scholarship including tuition, room, and board.

maca - while there is a strong party/drinking scene at UD (heck, where isn't there?), no one bothers you if you don't join in. My daughter is a junior, in the honors program, heavily involved with one of the theater groups while going out of her way to avoid the Greek system, and she neither drinks nor smokes. Not only doesn't she get any grief about not drinking, but last year when she decided one night that she was going to drink at a party (she'd had a rotten day and was in a really bad mood), her friends ganged up on her and refused to serve her. Many of them offered to accompany her for her first drink some other time, but they would not let her use a bad day as an excuse to do something that they felt she'd later regret. If my daughter has found people like this, I'm sure you'll find them too.

When I stayed in the honors dorm for the competition, I loved it. Almost all of the kids there were really cool and I must have been introduced to at least 50 people! I think I am going to go to Delaware, because it is the cheapest.

Now that I've toured Delware I'm thinking that it may work for me. The area around it is just blah but with a car(which you CAN have your freshman year) I think I could get my city fever out on the weekends. The people seemed really friendly but the dorms weren't that great. For the cost, it seemed really great.... For me, I have USC at almost free tuition and then Delaware at like 7K. Considering that it is cash in my pocket, that is a big decision.
