Acceptances from Nepal '15

What about the dude that got into Dartmouth and Mcgill?

and also those people attending UWCs?

@sarba and conf…where did you guys get into?

Dear _____ and family:

We have just completed the review of your academic credentials for admission to Hampshire College. Thank you for submitting them to us.

Congratulations on your acceptance at Hampshire College from the Fall 2011 term!

In order to get an F-1 student visa, you will need an I-20 form from the college.

In order to get an I-20, U.S. law requires that you prove that you can support yourself while you live and study in the United States. Students usually do this by showing that they have the funds available for their first year of study and their source of support will continue to be available to them for each year of their academic program.

The college determines the Cost of Attendance each year . This estimate includes an approximation of the tuition, fees, books/supplies, room, board, transportation and personal expenses of an average student. For the 2010-11 year, the estimate of expenses for a freshman resident student (living on-campus) is as follows:

Full-Time Tuition $ 40,481

Room $ 6.886

Board (Meal plan) $ 3,912(Mandatory for freshmen living on campus)

Books/Supplies $ 800

Transportation $ 600

Health Insurance $ 175

Personal Expenses $ 600

TOTAL for 2011-2012 academic year: $53454

Presidential Scholarship with need based aid (Full Tuition + $4000) = $45,481
Balance you are responsible for: $7,973

*Please allow for an annual increase of 6% in the cost of attendance.
[NO NEED TO REMIT NOW. WILL BE BILLED LATER]
Please note:
§ Letters of employment do NOT exclusively fulfill the financial supporting documentation requirement. They will be considered as supplementary NOT primary evidence of financial support.

§ It is also important to prove that these funds/sources of support are renewable and will remain available to you
throughout your entire degree program.

While we realize that this is a significant amount for many international students, please consider the following possibilities to help finance your cost of attendance:

If you have friends or family living in the area, consider living off-campus, which may reduce your room and board charges by $2,000 to $5,000.

Work-study opportunities are made available after you arrive on-campus although they are not guaranteed. Potential income from work-study, however, is not considered a means to prove financial support.

From the second year onwards, your meal plan obligation ($3,912) will be reduced, which would save you money.

Your personal expenses ($2,000) for books/supplies/travel could also be curtailed/controlled by you.

When your documents are received, they will be reviewed to ensure that they show the level of support needed. If accepted, these amounts will be entered onto your I-20 form which would then be mailed to you by regular air mail which may take up to 2 weeks to reach you.

If you have any further questions pertaining to your obtaining an I-20, please e-mail me at:

admissions@hampshire.edu . Kindly acknowledge receipt of this mail so that we are aware of your continued interest in attending Hampshire College and last but not the least Happy April’s Fool’s day, and hope you get accepted in the college of your choice.

^^ Now that is April Fool!!!
