Accepted 2012

I dont know. PBW....I am hoping it works out for you. It would be great to follow your brother there. But the last four years have been incredible with increased applications from around 14,000 when he applied to around 22,000 now. Amazingly competitive.

The mail moves slow this time of year also with catalogues and junk mail and christmas cards and packages.

I dont know if Fordham mails them ALL out at one time or not. If you extrapolate from anecdotal reports of around 7,000 EA applications this year, and about an average of 40% acceptances, then that means that 3,000 or so got in. I dont know how many they deferred to RD.

Hang in there. I wish the best for everyone.

This is actually exciting. I thought I for sure wouldnt hear anything until dec 25th (when i'd be on vacation so really not until after that), but now i have hope for next week. yay!

mrocked- i had a 3.4 gpa when i was accepted with 2070 on the SAT and 29 on the ACT... lots of extracurriculars etc. I know that some of my friends here though didn't have the SAT score I did, nor the GPA, so I do believe that Fordham really does look at the whole person.

I was accepted into Fordham (RC) postmarked 12/12!! I live in CT and go to a prep school.
GPA 3.3
ACT 25
LOTS!! of extracurriculars with leadership positions including 3 varsity sports
Puerto Rican-spanish 1st langauge
Congrats to everyone else who got in and good luck to everyone else still waiting!!

Congrats and welcome to the Fordham Family! Are you going to the LC Lincoln Center or to RH Rose Hill campus?

What is your intended major and what are your interests? Male or female?

I wonder if the letter will come tomorrow.

^ I sure hope so. Mdmets, when did you get your letter?

Swansong- I am a male and I will be attending Rose Hill campus. My intended major is either biology or physics and I will be entering Pre-Med.

Dennis 173- I received my letter on Friday the 14th as did another friend of mine who was also accepted. Don't fret though they send them out in batches so if you still haven't gotten yours just hang in there.

MDMets21. Good for you. Now come ready to work hard. Getting into med school is a great objective and its highly competitive. Fordham works its students very hard. Stay focused on academics and you will reach your objective.

Accepted!

1320 SAT
93.1 Average
Top 5%

mdmets21- i think if u work ur butt off and follow ur advisor's suggestions.. i think u'll have a good chance of getting into a goood med school.
Two years ago, 88% of the class got accepted to a med school. A number i didn't expect from Fordham.

Congrats Basketball boy.....and welcome to the Fordham Family! I strongly encourage you to visit campus as soon as possible (though students will not be there during the Christmas break which begins on Friday of this week, following final exams). You have stats that are just a great fit for Fordham. Its challenging but not overwhelming. You will work very hard at Fordham, but have lots of fun as well! If there is anything I can do for you by answering any questions, just ping me. Tell me where you are from and what your intended major is.

Whether you intend on playing for Fordham's basketball team in Division I or just club basketball (which is a ferocious intra collegiate league and LOADS of fun I am told!), or just a passionate fan of the game.....its a great basketball school at Fordham and the oldest Division I basketball gym/court in the nation, still in use! Its TRADITION!

You are now an official Fordham Ram! Welcome!

accepted!
29 ACT, top 10%, 3.85 gpa
everyone who hasnt gotten a letter yet, keep up hope, i live in wny and thought for sure i didn't get in b/c i hadn't gotten a letter yet. Congrats to all those who have been accepted so far!

mdmets-
Good luck with pre-med. The program here is insanity and you really, really have to work amazingly hard. I had four "pre-med" friends freshman year, very bright individuals, and they all dropped out of pre-med after the first semester/year. You'll be taking close to 20 credits or at times, you will actually take 20 cred. a semester. Not only do you have the sciences to take but the rest of the core to complete which makes it much different than pre-med at other schools.

I'm not trying to scare you, but rather just give you a heads up. I'm sure you know that pre-med in general is difficult, but to be honest it really is a different scene at fordham.

Outside of science, the rest of the classes (in my opinion) range from extremely easy (as in, nearly no work-- depends on the prof. though) to moderately hard (challanging but doable).

Congratulations vbalgrl and 13basketballboy...

What size and type of letter did you get...anything on the outside?

Yes, please, can anyone say what an acceptance letter looks like or how heavy it is? My daughter got an envelope from Fordham today but she won't be home for a few hours yet.

Accepted!!

The acceptance letter was in a folder, inside an envelope
