Was that for me? Who's sn?

we know yours.

it was asked to askaboutNYU guy :)

Oh, lol, that's what I thought! haha. yes, it would be useful to ask nyu more questions.

Nyu2004 is my aim

If I was to transfer to NYU Stern for my sophmore year, do you think I will have a disadvantage from missing one year when companies recruit?

More than any school in NYU Stern is known for their great internships. You won't be at a major disadvantage as far as internships go as long as your grades are solid. Most interviews use the gpa only as a means to qualify applicants and the interview is what gets them the job. Most of my friends are in Stern and for the good internships (Blackrock Morgan Stanley) a 3.5+ is the minimum for an interview. After that its all about how you interview. EVERYONE at Stern can find an internship however. It's not very tough.

anyone else receive a decision since these last few posts???

Hi askaboutNYU,

Thanks for your comments!

I wanna know which transfer apartment is the most friendly, largest and money-worthy

Paying $12000 for 9 months apartment is really expensive for me (esp I guess I will spend quite a lot, since i am international)

are you in Stern? I heard that it is really hard and cut-throat. Are the people friendly? Are the professors helpful?

I am panic coz I am afraid I may flunk at NYU ...

sorry, askaboutNYU, I repeat the question about your major.

can you tell me more about the college? when you said: "I will say that if you don't like the campus or the idea of NYU being integrated into the city then don't come. It will only be dissapointing. "

it sounds stupid but how do I know if I fit NYU? I don't need great sports teams, but definitely if there are great facilities and resources that are pretty close by, it will be nice.

thanks

maggie,

Where are you from?

Maggie,

If I could just comment on the cost of the housing issue, you are right - the money charged for housing at NYU is absurdly expensive.

You may find it easy on yourself, though, to take that for the first semester or the first year, but a bit of advice - for the same price or cheaper, you and a friend (or more) can get something much bigger and nicer. For that, NYU does have a very helpful off-campus housing office.

If you're paying for housing out-of-pocket (ie - it isn't being covered by a scholarship or something), I really don't think there is any reason to choose the dorms over the other option.

I am from Hong Kong.

but I heard various comments it is actually cheaper to live in NYU transfer apartments coz they also include utilties~

Do most transfers live off-campus housing?

how much would it be if I live off-campus?

yeah, I have to pay everything out-of-pocket

djeeze! Wellp, has anyone else heard their decision yet??? I am getting nervous... maybe it's just taking the mail service a long time to get to Vegas?!

I still haven't heard anything

ouch, rejected! That one hurt!!!

wait, so you found out you were rejected today? man, im sorry

yeah, I appreciate the sympathy... kind of bumbed; NYU was one of my top choices. Oh well, better luck for all of you still waiting :D!
