Accepted for Fall of 2009

accepted today for Westphal, 2120 SAT, 3.5 GPA, New Enlgand public h.s.

son was accepted last week after four weeks via VIP app. Music Industry program/Dean's Scholarship. He was invited into the Music Industry BS/MBA accelerated program (five years to MBA).

64/540; 30 ACT, 4.95/5.0 weighted; lots of ECs, all-state scholastic bowl, finalist in national coalition against censorship film competiton.

Was wondering if anyone knew of additional scholarships that become offered from the Westphal school, for working at the record label, etc.

albsmom1, Congrats!

I hear that program is very competitive. Does your son have any experience in the music industry?

My son's only music industry experience is in self-producing his CD (which is substantial). He also makes short films. He was a finalist in the National Coalitition Against Censorthip film competition, for a film which he directed, wrote and scored. He has a "one man" band which he also records (six instruments--all recorded--not synthesiszed--by mic.) He writes his own music and records, arranges and produces it. But he's not an AV kid or anything like that.

but no specific music industry stuff. His other schools are UTAustin (which is inaugurating its first music industry program next year) and Indiana University (recording arts). He's also gotten into a safety school (Bradley. honors program), which has Music Business, but not exactly what he's looking for.

I got accepted for 4 year co-op in Engineering with a 15500 annual scholarship.

3.3 gpa UW

still waiting on the BS/MD program..

AKittka: when did you apply? and when did you hear from Drexel?

don't remember exactly.. maybe late september. and i applied with the VIP application but Drexel never got my transcript and i didn't find that out till i asked my counselor who checked and found out that drexel never sent back a confirmation letter or whatever. anyways, i got my decision about 2 weeks ago.

Computer Science

actually not accepted yet, but i just submitted my VIP application and i believe just about every vip applicant is accepted. (correct me if im wrong)
my gpa is about a 3.65
1600's sat ( =[ dont say anything!!!!! I was so scared on writing section! 1st time, and taking it again)
Taking Bio M and Math I subj test Dec

And i have about 200 volunteer hours, tons of extra curriculars from writing my own c++ programs to working as a console operator for an imax, planetarium, and 3d theater (Franklin Inst.)

Took 6 sci and math courses total and all were the highest rigor i was offered

I got my acceptance letter today. Biological Sciences. What does "Concentration: 5 YR UG Co-op Concentration" mean?

Got my nice little acceptance folder today with the offer for the Honors College and the Dean Scholarship.

2000 SAT (740 m, 660 cr, 600 w)
Around 4.3 gpa, 3.8 unweighted
5 of 265

i dont like the co-op program...
wasting tons of time working when you could be learning..

Maybe for 1 semester but thats the most i would be willing to do.
If i want i can volunteer at places that need my work. It maybe just the way im looking at the program though

so i know the $12,500 scholarship is the dean's scholarship, but what is the $16000 called?

i got 16k/year and it said dean's scholarship . i think the next highest one is the AJ Drexel.

I got into Drexel last week. I had a 3.32 unweighted and a 3.63 weighted. My school does not rank. My SATs were R-550 M-790 W-620. I am from New Jersey so the geographical proximity was a good help. My extracirriculars included all area volleyball and 4 years of FBLA. I am also got the most spirited superlative at our school.

That's an amazing math score :D

I am from new jersey as well

when did everyone apply? and how long was it until you got a decision?

I applied around November 15th and got my decision on December 3rd. I was accepted into the BS/PhD program in civil engineering, the 5 year co-op, and the honors college. I also got the Dean's Scholarship for $17000 per year. It was my safety but it's great just to be into college. GPA: 4.0 UW, SAT:1600/1600, 2330/2400, ACT:35, E:8. I play bassoon in many of the most advanced groups in my area. I also did a summer engineering program at Drexel during the summer before my junior year.
Good luck to everyone else!
