Accepted for Fall of 2009

Applied in like...September...VIP for Film. I was told that because the college with the film program is so exclusive, I have to wait until ~Jan. 8th to hear from them.

GPA: 3.34 (2 APs weighted, everything else [honors] unweighted)
SAT: 1960
ACT: 28

Some of you kids have stats that would make you competitive for higher ranked schools. I'm curious. What's the attraction of Drexel? The main reason I'm asking is because My D received a VIP application but will probably ignore it and shoot higher. Neither of us can figure out "why Drexel?"

Plainsman, my S applied because he is interested in computer science and information technology and Drexel has a good reputation in that.

He felt that since Drexel has rolling admission, he could have a "safety" in his back pocket in October, which is what happened. Then, he could try and go up from there, but at least he wouldn't be sweating if he would (or would not) get in anywhere.

dadinator: I get the feeling a lot of people on this board have the same plan.

wait I applied to Drexel about a month ago using the priority app and someone who goes to my school applied on December 1st and has already heard back with an acceptance, when will I?!?

So basically what u all r saying is drexel is rolling...but its a slower rolling than most rolling colleges? And is n e 1 doing Sports Management?

Got my acceptance letter today, $8K/yr Dean's Scholarship.
Major: Film & Video

I got in too! My major is education, but I dunno if I'm actually going to enroll next year.
Is anyone definately going?

I got accepted sometime in November, I applied in October. My major is Undecided Engineering, but I want to minor in Dance and maybe Spanish. I tried for Swarthmore, but they rejected me. Probably cause of the money. Oh well. I like Drexel cause it's right in the city, which I love :-D

Plainsman... "Some of you kids have stats that would make you competitive for higher ranked schools. I'm curious. What's the attraction of Drexel?"

For my D, it's the BA/MD program.

just found my acceptance online today, although i'm almost definitely not going.
I applied December 1st thru VIP Application
3.46 W GPA
almost all honors and AP
2130/2400 SAT

not sure about scholarship yet, do you have to wait for the actual letter?

mrfish164: Are you going to be a freshman, or are you a transfer student? Also, what is your major?

I got in with the Deans Scholarship offer, but do we get more scholarship money in the future? After the FAFSA and the AJ Drexel Scholarship awards?

i am an incoming freshman and i think i put marketing or economics as my major... i forgot but its something business

Just a note everyone. If you are unhappy with the ammount of scholarship money you recieved you can usually squeeze a few thousand more out of the school by writing a persuasive letter to the financial aid office/admissions. If you definitely want to go to Drexel...tell them that but the decision is riding on financial aid. They gave me and almost everyone I know who did that more money. I'm at Drex with a $21,000 per year accademic scholarship.

That is very true, before I came to Drexel I sent of an appeal letter for the amount of financial and I think after it went through review I got an extra $5000 appeal grant.

rsxwheeeeee, did you use the VIP app? I filled it out when I went to visit because it was free and the 250 statement was waved. But I know there’s a mandatory essay for F&V majors, and I don’t know how to send it (or a teacher’s recommendation) in. The only forms they give are the Transcript/GC form and the Alum form. Please, help.

Send it to the the admissions office:
