Well of course if you can't pay for it, you can't go, but from what I've heard, it's not easy to do. Otherwise a lot more people would apply ED to boost chances of acceptance, and then be like "sorry, I'm broke!" and not go...I mean ED is a legally binding contract. Most people who apply ED realize it's not a good idea if you need a lot of FA and can't count on it. Cornell is pretty generous with FA though...at my college (NYU) they're pretty stingy and a lot of students didn't apply ED because they need to compare FA packages.

ED was so weird this year... like really unpredictable/random.
Even with Yale, these ABSOLUTELY AMAZING applicants from my school got deferred (like, mind-blowingly good kids) and this obnoxious, arrogant, not-as-good applicant from a nearby HS got into Yale.
What is with this process?
I have this horrible feeling I'm just going to get left behind in the dust...
Gah!

^hmm, maybe the trick is to have mediocre stats compared to everyone else. Maybe I actually have a shot...

Haha maybe mediocre stats are good...
No, you obviously have good stats if you're getting a 4.0 at NYU.
A really good student at my school got denied ED from NYU...

I'm not getting a 4.0 at NYU lol. Ya know, every transfer applicant says they're gonna get a 4.0, but it never actually works out...

See, today I had my Biology final. Now, I'm an Economics major, not so good with the Bio and stuff. So, I came into the test feeling confident...left 3 hours later, confidence shattered. I will now place all my hopes and ambitions on the savior that is the bell curve. Also, I got back my final paper for Writing and it was a B+, so that takes my A down to an A-. Andddd now I'm thinking of applying for Spring '09 transfer instead, because the way it is right now, they'll still focus mostly on my HS record. Cornell will only have 3 months of college to go by, and 4 classes. 1 of which I just screwed up in.

Well still, NYU is a very respectable school... probably better than I'm going to get into ><
Spring transfer might be a good idea if you don't want Cornell to weight your HS record as heavily.
I can't wait till Christmas break... school is killing me. THOUGH I think I did reasonably well on my Multivariable Calc test today :)
Triple integration ftw!
