Accepted Students Day 2010

I just registered for it today and was wondering if anyone else was planning on attending?

yeah I am i also registered online on friday…really excited hbu??

same  did you enroll already?

yes i have i am a bio major what is your major and have you enrolled yet??

omg that means im gonna see you next year also bio major enrolled on thursday :-)

alright  that soundss awesome are you looking foward to attending tcnj? Idn about you but i can’t wait to get there and experience it im getting sick/have gotten sick of hs by now lol…

ahhhhh man same here. im psyched. i joined the facebook group for class of 2014

thats greatt yeah man i’ve heard a lot of great things about tcnj i hope they are all true? have you visited yet?

ive been there twice so far. doing an overnight visit next week before the accepted students day on the 10th. the campus is gorgeous. have you been yet? and everyone ive talked to about it keeps telling me how good of a school it is and that the bio major is really competitive.

yes i’ve visited once back in october i believe, and yes i am enthused that the bio program is competitive and that i got accepted into it… i just hope its not that difficult lol i’m looking for a great challenge but i dont want it to be impossible you noe is that what everyone is indicating by saying thats it really competitive??

i think its partly the hard curriculum but mostly the fact that its a hard major to get into, but that might just be because its hard and prepares you well for graduate/professional school or the workforce. in nj going to tcnj is seen as a good thing

lol i hope so what is getting to me is that a lot of people don’t really know the school and its rigor… Idn if you have experienced this but when i tell lots of people their reaction isn’t so amazed or anything bc they aren’t familar with it? Whatever i know tcnj bio is really good so its all good…

have you seen pics of the new public art they have up?

the people that know tcnj know its good. i have bumped into a few that have no idea though they ask if i mean rutgers or ramapo. sometimes calling it trenton state rings a few bells

yeah def i had similar experiences but i’m wondering i hope i have made the right choice to enroll here bc i just hope people will begin to understand that its a pretty competitive and good school. What do you think?

i think it is. for me, i dont think my undergrad is gonna matter that much since im going to med school after this. it wouldnt make sense for me to pay bundles more on a bigger name when i can go to a very good, albeit small school for much less. i think tcnjs education is worth more than the price tag when it comes to the sciences.

dude i aspire to do the same and go to med school!!! I have the same kind of insight on this bc i don’t wanna spend all of this undergrad 50K a year just to get into med school… plus i heard that tcnj places extremely well into med school so we got something in common lol!

FYI…I know of a senior who was accepted this year into Case Western Reserve and University of Virginia medical school - two very good programs, so I’d say TCNJ does a pretty good job at placing people into med school :)

Exactly  84% of the kids that apply to med schools get in. That’s an amazing percentage for a non-Ivy in my opinion. So I think I’m making a very good choice by going there. Plus since its smaller it will be easier to get to know my teachers and such for the letters of recommendation I’m going to need for med school.

yeah i know that statistic is really incredible like you said and i hold the same rationale about the small school environment ( i want to know my teachers well and have small classes too), so i think we are making a good decision :)
