Does anyone care to post information about the schedule? What is there for parents? Do kids have a chance to spend a night in a dorm? (I'd ask HM but I don't want to pester them at this point in the admissions cycle.)

I attended last year with my daughter. There are many events for both the student and the parent and “yes” most students stay overnight in a dorm. I, like many parents left about midway through the first day as you really want to have your student get a feel of living there on their own. (Although there are split activities for parents/students) The next morning after breakfast my daughter was ready to leave and she really felt that she had a very good idea of the campus life and the things Mudd had to offer.

@lizardrock - did you D go on to attend HMC?

Great and thanks! I’m figuring we might head out and do a tiny bit of touristing around while son attends events.

We were there last year too. (Although we came in a day early and I got to walk around Claremont then). I found the whole program to be very informative and I did stay for the whole thing, although my daughter was there or not with me depending on the event. It was good that we went to some things together, because it was at an evening talk, that my daughter turned to me and said she didn’t need to go to any of the other schools’ admitted students weekends because HMC was were she wanted to be. And, she seems very happy there, despite the very hard work.

Yes my daughter is a Frosh this year at Mudd. Nemon, there is a very beautiful village within walking distance of the campus. There are great restaurants, movie house, and shopping. In addition the walk is beautiful with all the early California homes with their spectacular gardens.

nemom i saw this on hmc website

Yeah; the mailman just came and I got my rejection… that’s why the post is gone. I honestly don’t even know why I applied… wouldn’t have gone there even if I got in!
