Accident at Grinnell

Wishing a good recovery for this young man.

Grinnell student nearly loses leg leaping onto train | desmoinesregister.com | The Des Moines Register

Wow. I remember when I toured at Grinnell my tour guide told me the “Three Things You Can Do At Grinnell That Will Actually Get You In Trouble” and number 1 was “attempting to ride the train.” Perhaps this is why.

I hope he’s OK!

My tour guide said pretty much the same thing; it was something along the lines of “Really, the only way you can get expelled from Grinnell is to jump on the train.”

Still, I hope he gets better!

Has there been any further word on how he is doing?

[bubble]wrap – your name brought back a funny memory. Last year S received a Grinnell newsletter sent to prospective students – Ins & Outs. He loved the story a student told of a group of kids lining a dorm hall with bubble wrap then running and sliding along it. I think it was then that he decided to apply. :)

We are anxiously awaiting his admissions decision in about…9.5 hours!!!

He’s going to be fine. He will keep his foot, and his doctors say that he may be able to finish the rest of the semester (right now is spring break). I’m pretty sure that they won’t expel him as well.

I heard through the grapevine that he is doing well and they are hopeful for a really good recovery considering the magnitude of the injury.

Good luck BengalMom. Let us know what happens.
