Accidentally Sent in a Joke Application, HELP!

On the CommonApp, my friends and I were looking at supplementaries for random schools for fun. For one of the school's, I think it's called Nazereth, they had a generic "why are you applying" question. We typed "the application is free, I want more acceptances under my belt, etc." I left to get a soda, and while I was gone my friends submitted both the supplementary and the application. Now, I'm so worried. Will I get blacklisted from other colleges? Should I send the college an apology letter? Help!

wowww why would they do that? I would be sooo ****ed off
I think you should send an apology letter. I doubt they will blacklist you but you might want to just in case. The worst thing that could happen is you getting rejected from Naz,…whatever haha

Call them right now and withdraw your app. Say you got into a college ED if you have to. They’ll never see it.

Don’t colleges throw away your app if it’s not completed? I assume you didn’t send the commonapp with payment in or anything, so they shouldn’t even see it.

You call these people…“Friends” ?

Yes, frankly, I WOULD contact the college and explain (it’s not like those “friends” are going to do it). While it’s not the first or last time this did or will happen, it’s just common courtesy to do so. And, that step is regardless of whether or not any other college will see it and/or blacklist you. I’m amazed how many people are seeing how to get out of this without dealing with it.

I have just two words for you: clam fart.

Read it all the way to the end. It’s funniest thread ever in the history of CC:

Thanks for your advice, guys. I sent Nazareth an e-mail saying that I got accepted to my first choice school and asking them to withdraw my application. Hopefully, nothing bad will come out of this other than me wasting some person’s time.

Haha. That’s brilliant. Give your friends a pat on the back.

You’re fine in any scenario.
