Accounting from GMU/ VT or Economics from UVA????

I am currently at George Mason University planning on getting an Accounting degree. I am a rising junior and looking to transfer to either UVA or VT, or just stay at GMU.

My GPA is 3.6, which is good enough to get into UVA's Arts and Science School for Economics, but not its Mcintire school for Accounting. Therefore, if I attend UVA I would be doing Economics or Economics with a Finance Concentration.

Can somebody tell me which is better for me in the long run and short run?

Accounting at VT
Accounting at GMU
Economics at UVA

** I also plan on going to a top school for my MBA.

Please help!! Thanks!

Dude, apply to McIntire anyways and you might still have a shot. I would prefer econ at UVA, strictly because you can interview with the more prestigious companies that recruit from the school and get better prospects. That being said, Mason’s accounting program is really well known and you would still do pretty well if you stayed. What I would not do is transfer to VT for accounting because you are getting a degree from a roughly similar department without much of a gain in terms of prospective employment- but that is just my view point.
