Accounting Masters and CPA certification?

I'm currently enrolled at a private college that has a great one-year masters program for accounting. I'm currently working on my bachelors in accounting. My question is: Is it worth getting the Masters in accounting in addition to CPA certification?

My overall goal is to be a financial controller eventually, and maybe even a treasurer in the latter stages of my career. I would love getting the CTP certification, but I'm certainly in no rush to get it.

What steps should I take to make my goals a reality. I'm going to sit for the CPA exam regardless, but is the one-year Masters Program in Accounting going to be worth my time and money? Or would a Masters in a different area make my goals more realistic?

Any input and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The MAAc is optional, the CPA is not.

Get a Big 4 audit offer out of undergrad, stick around for 5-7 yrs, get licensed as a CPA, and jump to private/industry.

Thanks for your input Moss! Definitely a good plan to follow.
