I go to the McCombs Business School at UT-Austin and just got accepted into the PPA program. The PPA program is unique to McCombs in that it is a 5 year program in accounting which enables you to graduate with a BBA in Accounting, a MPA degree (Masters in Professional Accounting), CPA certification and atleast once internship with the Big Four.

However, I want to go into I-Banking and thought Finance might prepare me more for it since a huge chunk of all those graduating from the PPA pogram join the Big 4. I also feel that finance might be more interesting and more suited to me ( I haven't taken a finance class yet so for all I know I could be horribly wrong).

I just want to know general suggestions / pros and cons of doing either route.

Also Finance majors are the highest number of graduates from McCombs with PPA students coming in second I think.
