Accounting Program in UMD vs. JMU, Which is better?

Hey, guys, can anyone tell me which is better in accounting program, University of Maryland, college park or James Madison University in VA? I am considering both of them, and every time when I search online for ranking, the rankings of accounting or business program in these two schools are always different. In some ranking, UMD has better accounting program; in some ranking, JMU has better one. So which one do you guys recommend or think better?

Maryland is a top notch school for mathematics, and I’m a huge Maryland cheerleader, so of course I will show favor to Maryland in general…

However, I will ask if you are IS for either school?

Overall rankings and departmental rankings are just one piece of the puzzle. You should visit both schools to see which one is a better fit for you.

Look at the specific, required classes for 4 year plans of each school. Does one appeal to you more? Look at electives offered. Consider the general education class requirements for the university itself (and the options available to fulfill those requirements).

Where do you feel most comfortable? The school you choose will be “home” for next four years, so you should feel like it’s the right fit for you.

Don’t worry about rankings. At the end of the day, it’s not the school you attend but what you do (how well you perform, the activities you get involved in) when you get to the school that will make all the difference in your success.
