<p>The College of Business graduate accounting program has landed its first ranking in the Public Accounting Report's (PAR) prestigious annual rankings, reflecting the program's increased national prominence and impact. The program is ranked 24th according to PAR's 25th Annual Survey of Accounting Professors which was released on Oct. 30, 2006.</p>
<p>Receiving its second consecutive ranking in the PAR, the College's undergraduate accounting program received the ranking of 25th among public and private institutions.</p>
<p>"It is an honor to be ranked among the best accounting programs in the country," said Bud Fennema, chairman of FSU's accounting department and the University's Ernst and Young Professor of Accounting. "These rankings, coupled with recent high rankings in CPA exam passage, validate the efforts of our faculty and students."</p>
<p>The PAR survey asks accounting professors and department chairs to name the undergraduate and graduate programs that offer degrees in accounting they feel most consistently turn out students capable of someday attaining partner status.</p>
<p>There are approximately 170 colleges and universities in the United States with accredited accounting programs.</p>
<p>Founded in 1950, the FSU College of Business is one of the youngest business schools and is recognized as one of the nation's 10 largest business schools. It is FSU's second largest college with an enrollment of more than 6,300 students, and boasts a distinguished faculty of 115, including a Francis Eppes professor, three university named professors, seven Eminent Scholars and 30 endowed professorships.</p>
