I live in Virginia and I’m considering a school in Colorado. I just have a few questions for those of you who have some experience with this kind of thing.
Should I fly or road trip it?
If I should fly, how will I get my car there?
What are the different ways to get my dorm things there? Which one would be the most sensible/affordable?

Depends. Are there other schools you are considering along the way? Do you want to visit other landmarks or get in and out of there as quickly as possible? If the answer is yes to either of these questions you could road trip it. Otherwise it makes more sense to fly.
Usually people get rental cars or use public transportation depending on the location of the college
What I do is have someone drive down at the beginning and end of the year and in the middle take a suitcase or two back and forth for winter clothing and whatnot. You can also store it there during the summer if you don’t want to carry everything back and forth.
