ACT = 23, SAT = 1600, Now what? Take ACT again and Skip SAT?

My daugher is 4.0 weighted, 3.7 unweighted GPA as a high school junior. Large High School in Raleigh, NC (good academic rep) with 2,200 students (550 in her graduating class). Her current rank is 119. We think she'll move into top 100 with this semesters grades.

Her first ACT this past November she did zero prep and scored 23. She just took SAT 3 weeks ago and did horribly (1,600 total). BTW, it was the math component that killed her the most. She scored 420 / 19% percentile on the math, ouch. BTW, she has NEVER been a good math student depsite years of tutoring, support and just plain hard work on her part...

Now what? We're debating between blowing off SAT entirely and focusing on prep and re-test for ACT. I'd appreciate any advice. Surprisingly I've heard others on the board say that SAT is much easier on the Match.. go figure.

Her current College choices are: UNC Wilmington, NCSU and UNC Chapel Hll (yeah, it's long shot, but she might squeak in if we can get her test scores up).

All advice appreciated!!!

I don't know, but perhaps this will make you feel better.....I scored about the same as she did, and I completely bombed the critical reading. I blame the test taker next to me.....I'm sure she failed as well.

Bump..

Any sogo's out there? We have to commit to a strategy this week... leaning towards ACT and private tutoring to help my daughter improve her ACT to 25-26.

Thoughts?

Get an ACT book.
Make her study it.

Worked for me!
