ACT college admission test to report new scores in 2015

"ACT college admission test to report new scores in 2015

"Starting next year, students who take the ACT college admission test will face a more complex task if they choose to write an essay and will receive new scores for English language arts and the combined fields of science and mathematics..."

Any advice or insight for students under this? No worries?

Wow, I didn’t see this, and I read the Post!! Thanks for posting. We’ll be out of the college hunt by then, but I think this could be impactful. Am I wrong to interpret this as saying that subscores will now be reported and that the composite (regardless of what you get in each section) will no longer be the rule of thumb? It feels like the SAT and ACT are moving out of their corners and evolving into more similar tests. You know that some day they will likely merge. This is afterall big business.

I wish my kid would be finished before all the new ACT/SAT changes are implemented. It seems she’ll have to prepare for all versions.

I have an incoming junior in high school and he wants to prep for ACT this summer. Does anyone know if there is a new edition of The Real ACT Prep guide coming out for 2015 or is the 3rd edition that has a 2011 publish date the latest version? Wondering if the ACT test is changing and if the current edition out going to be relevant.
