Can I use SAT styled essays for the ACT essay? For example, I would use examples from books, life, or anything to support my thesis on the SAT. But with the ACT, it asks me to support it with reasons....so I was wondering if I could just support with examples from books, life experiences, etc

you can do that.. you can use those as your reasons

in response to the title, the ACT essay is not equal to the SAT essay.. they are oriented differently, and the ACT essay tends to focus more on length, from what I've seen

the ACT essay focuses more on specific questions like (making this up) "should company A be punished for doing so and so?" not like the broad philosophical questions on the SAT like "Is this (insert character trait) a virtue?"

Do they let you see your ACT essay? I got a 12 and I really want to read it again like they do with the SAT essay.

i haven't gotten any of my ACT writings back, so i doubt it... maybe you can, but you'll have to contact ACT and ask them.. i don't know for sure

It's usually a lot harder to do an "SAT" style essay for the ACT. ACT topics will be like "Should high school libraries have magazines?". Chances are you won't be able to use Thoreau or World War II to justify your reasoning.

lol, I'm so geared up for SAT that I can't seem to function normally for the ACT. :/
