ACT > GPA

I have a low GPA due to my own personal issues + rigor of my school classes (both because of my own choices and the fact my school is near the best in my state). However, my ACT is a 30 (31 superscore) which isn’t unbelievably high, but it’s more than most people I know with 3.3 GPA have. I’ve read that some schools consider ACT more valuable (although I know most schools consider GPA much more than any other factors). Does anyone know what these schools are? Basically, any school that considers factors outside GPA more than/equally as much as GPA. I have decent ECs and courses.

This is very dated but at one time U Montana, U Nebraska, U South Carolina, valued scores more than GPA. You’d have to check the Common Data Set (section C) for each to see if that is still accurate.

I’m in the opposite situation as you—low ACT score, high GPA. I’m concerned as well.
