ACT June 2010 - Math

Oh and it was only half a parabola right? I know i chose the one with the upward slope.

Was the one with the clock and the degree at 1:30 135 degrees?

Yeah, it was 135.

@golfer, yes, 135

Yes, golfer.

@golfer: it was, there was 90 degree angle formed between 6 and 3 and a 45 degree angle between 3 and 130.

SHOOOT. i put 120.

i think i missed like 6…gah. 31?

I know this is a stupid question for someone who got an 800 on the math II…but for the probability one with 1/8, you all just multiplied 40 by .125 right?

@ ivysaur, what?

what’d people put for the first question

^Green? I think?

what was the fraction

It was asking how many yellow were in a bag if the probability of getting one was 1/8…so multiple total by .125…I think.

The answer was 5. 40 marbles so 1/8 = 5/40.

oh yeah… just multiply 1/8 * 40 = 5

aight…it just seemed too simple lol.

For the new domain of f of g of x, did you get a number line with all numbers except -2 and 0?

Ivysaur thats what I got, although I rushed that question and solved it by plugging in the numbers with an ‘open dot’ or whatever its called on the number line. so i tried -2, 0, and 1, and found -2 and 0 didn’t work.

Yes Ivysaur, thats correct and the 1:30 question was 135 degrees as it is half way between 12 and 3 and thus a 35 degree angle.

For those wondering about the rhombus question, each vertex of the rhombus was a midpoint on the sides of the rectangle. Because of this, a line drawn from the center of the rectangle to one of the RECTANGLE’s vertexes will be a reflection (over the y-axis) of the side of the rhombus. Line from center of rectangle to vertex = side of rhombus = radius of circle = 4. Side of rhombus = 4.
