We had reapplied to ACT for additional accommodations for my daughter who is a slow processor and has ADHD. She was approved for time and a half in the past. In addition to the psych ed report we provided last time.we had her dr write a letter explaining why this wasn’t enough given her LD and also had teachers document that she often uses more than time and a half on tests in class. She has had accommodations since 4th grade. Despite all this, the request for double time was denied because on her official 504 plan - it only mandates time and a half.
Interestingly (since we didnt ask for this), she was granted special testing over multiple days meaning she can break up the six hours (with essay) she has over more than one weekend. Has anyone’s child had this with time and a half and if so - am looking for thoughts on best way to break it up? Once you start a section, you have to finish it. Her initial scores were much higher on reading and english - largely because she didnt finish math or science so am thinking she needs to allocate more time there for those schools that superscore. She also scored poorly on the essay so needs to add some time there.
I recognize this is highly kid specific but would appreciate any guidance.
