ACT Practice: Pen and Paper or Electronic Practice?

I’ve been using Microsoft OneNote to download practice tests, like McGraw Hill’s 800+ page PDF. However, I feel that I take more time practicing digitally and get more answers wrong, not to mention marking and scoring questions is a pain. It’s also awkward using a mouse and monitor in some sections (i.e. math). Is it better to just print the practice tests/exam resources rather than practicing digitally? Using pen or pencil to practice more resembles the actual ACT than using my computer, so there’s that. Also, what are some reputable ACT resources, from practice tests to guides that outline all exam material? I purchased the official guide, but it only contains 3 practice tests. Also, I heard that McGraw Hill’s Practice Tests are unreliable and don’t closely resemble actual ACT tests and should be avoided. Is this true? If you have any resources that would be of service, feel free to link them in a reply or DM.

P.S. I am taking the ACT in February.

I recommend printing them so you can closely resemble the real exam. It seems like you already know it’s not working for you digitally. For some official practice tests, you can use Crack ACT (they have some PDFs you can print out), and you can search online with “official ACT practice tests” to find others. The best sources to use are always what is officially released by ACT–other companies may have material that closely resembles that of the ACT, but nothing beats the official stuff. (For Science, I used For the Love ACT science book. You can order it online, it has some pretty great tips for success. While it’s not an ACT book, I can really say it models the real thing, and you can supplement this with the actual official practice exams).

Good luck!
