My D got a 690 in the March 08 SAT Math and is looking to take the ACT in June. She will barely have a few days to review or prep for the ACT. She is taking a mid level Precalculus class.

She is a straight A student but says she prefers SAT than ACT style of testing. Should she attempt a 3rd SAT this Fall or take the ACT and try to get a 34?

Is a week enough to score a 34 if you are a strong student with a 2200+ already in SAT?

well i would stay with SATs , just because she knows it better......... she's already got a 2200 + so what's the point of dealing with the impossible science section??? she already has all the tips for a good score on the SAT, but if you don't feel safe, i think that you should register her for both.....

that's what we had planned on a 3rd SAT to bring up the math. But it looks like most kids in her school are attempting both. The idea is that if her ACT is around a 33 in Math and the composite, she will not have to take the SAT a third time. I believe a 33 in math, would be equal to 720-730 in SAT?

yep 730, but remeber, the science section she is completely unprepared for, even though it is basically just knowledge thinking and to conclude results.... i would take both if i was your daughter, just in case.

Does your daughter have a review book? She should try taking some practice tests to see how she might expect to score on the real test. It would also familiarize her with the format of the ACT.

Have your D try the practice tests on the ACT website and if she can do well on the Science and Math parts, the other sections should be a piece of cake.
