I am prepping for the ACT in September. I haven't practiced the reading section much because it's my best section, but I think I can get a near-perfect reading section score if I learn how to tackle the prose fiction passage! I rarely miss questions on the humanities or science passages, but always miss 4-6 on the prose passage.

Right now I do the prose passage last. I've noticed that I always miss 4-6 whether I spend a lot of time on it (and miss questions on my best passage at the end) or save it for last and have less time.

I typically spend about 30 seconds glancing at the questions before I read and underline some key words. I then read the passage in it's entirety (I know this goes against common advice but I am a fast reader and it works well for the other passages), then I answer the questions, referencing the text as necessary.

If anyone goes about it a different way and does well, or has advice for specific types of questions commonly found on the prose passage, I'd really appreciate some help!
