how do i improve in science and reading in ACT?
what are the tips for science and reading/
:0 ;0 :)

For the reading you have to CONCENTRATE on the words and comprehend it. If you do that you’ll get a 36 because the questions are pretty easy and you’ll breeze through them. The science is hard, but you need to also concentrate on the graphs and find what it’s asking for.

(I got a 30 on reading and a 36 on science on the june test)
I don’t know if my strategies can apply to everyone, so you need to try them on some practice tests.
Reading:
Personally, I have enough time to read->do questions->sometimes refer back to the passage. Although some people would like to read the questions first, I think ACT’s reading is more like testing the general idea instead of specific details, so it’s okay to read the passage first.

Science:
ACT science is the most critical part, it seperates the 30’s composite from the 20’s. ACT science is all about your understanding of data. Find specific relationships or trends would bring you great advantages. On the june test, i didn’t understand some of the subtopics, but since i could find the relationships and trends, i made a perfect guess. Many people find it difficult to finish this section within time, so spend less time on the subtopics that do not contain a lot of questions. Also, don’t read the intro unless you cannot do any of the questions. And same thing, I suggest you to read the passage for opposite view points paragraphs, and the key trick is to find whether each opinion is for/agianst the topic.
Science has many types of questions, and I don’t think I am going to explain how to tackle each type. The above paragraph may give you a general idea, and you may be able to figure out some strategies of your own. Afterall, unlike the SAT, ACT is about thinking logically.
